The Racing 40 Panda is a 40 mm vintage-inspired racing chronograph in stainless steel, featuring a dual-layered dial in white and black, fitted with a semi-matt leather strap and powered by a mechanical-quartz chronograph movement.

About

The Racing 40 Panda is housed in a 40 mm 316L stainless-steel case with polished and brushed surfaces, and powered by a mechanical-quartz chronograph movement (caliber VK64). A polished black bezel with an engraved tachymeter scale frames the dual-layered dial in white and black. The subdials feature an embossed concentric pattern and display stopwatch minutes at 9 o’clock and a 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock. The dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The design is completed by a black semi-matte leather strap with a polished and brushed steel buckle completes the watch.

The Racing 40 Panda is our interpretation of what many consider the definitive racing chronograph design. The iconic Panda dial is defined by its balanced layout, high legibility, and the classic combination of white and black that gives it its name. Though not part of the first collection, it was requested by our community and, since its introduction in 2018, has become our best-selling design. The Racing 40 Panda is distinctly racing and unmistakably vintage, viewed through a modern lens with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

The Racing 40 collection is our reimagined take on classic racing chronographs from the 1960s, and the Panda is part of the core collection.

CASE

A slim 12 mm profile ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. The 40 mm case is crafted from durable 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed finishes and features a screw-down crown, while a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial. Carefully selected materials emphasize practicality and long-term resilience.

DIAL

The dual-layer dial in white and black features contrasting finishes, creating strong legibility and visual balance. The subdials feature an embossed concentric pattern and display stopwatch minutes at 9 o’clock and a 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock. Polished hands contrast against the matte surface for excellent legibility.

MOVEMENT

The Racing 40 Panda is powered by a mechanical-quartz chronograph movement, caliber VK64, combining Japanese quartz accuracy with a mechanical chronograph module. The result is a smooth sweeping stopwatch seconds hand (5 beats per second) and an instant reset with mechanical-feedback pushers—delivering the feel of a mechanical chronograph with the reliability of quartz.
